After 27 Years of Fitting Golfers, Here's What I Tell Every Customer Before They Buy New
You have compared prices on five different sites and they are all the same. That is not a coincidence. Here is what we tell customers when they ask us why, and what we suggest they do instead.
What the Industry Won't Tell You
Every Golf Store Charges the Same Price for New Clubs. Here's Why.
If you have ever compared prices on a new Callaway, TaylorMade, or Titleist driver across multiple stores, you noticed something strange: the price is identical everywhere.
That is not a coincidence. It is called Minimum Advertised Pricing (MAP), and it is a contractual agreement between manufacturers and every retailer that sells their products. Golf Galaxy, PGA Tour Superstore, 2nd Swing, and every online shop, including us, are legally bound to advertise the same price on new equipment.
This is why we tell every customer the same thing: if you want real pricing flexibility, pre-owned is the only game in town. MAP does not apply to used clubs. That means we can price based on actual market value, not what a manufacturer forces us to charge.
The Data Most Golfers Ignore
A $599 Driver Loses Half Its Value in 12 Months. The Performance Loss? Almost Zero.
Every year, manufacturers release a new flagship driver. And every year, we put the old model and the new model on our launch monitor side by side. Here is what we see, consistently, across thousands of fittings:
This is not opinion. This is what we see on the launch monitor every single day. The technology in a 1-2 year old driver from Callaway, TaylorMade, or Titleist is functionally identical to the current model. The only thing that changes significantly is the price.
Bottom line: the price drops but the club still performs the same.
"We put a 2024 Paradym and a 2025 Ai Smoke on the same launch monitor. The difference was 2 yards. The price difference was $275."
TGG Fitting Team, based on in-store launch monitor dataOur Grading System
We Grade Conservatively. On Purpose.
Every pre-owned club that comes through our shop is inspected by the same team that does our custom fittings. We use a 4-tier system, and we deliberately grade on the strict side. If there is any doubt, we grade down. Our customers should be pleasantly surprised when they open the box, not disappointed.
Every listing includes the specific grade, detailed condition notes, and photos. We document shaft specs, grip condition, and any modifications. Every club is sourced through verified trade-ins and authenticated by our fitting team. We have been doing this for 27 years and our reputation depends on accuracy.
Not what you expected? We make it right. If the condition does not match the grade, contact us and we will take care of it. No runaround. That is how a family shop operates.
Real Examples from Our Inventory
What "Pre-Owned" Actually Looks Like in Dollar Terms
Here are three examples from categories our customers buy most. These are representative of what we typically stock, not one-time deals.
Pre-Owned Drivers
Pre-Owned Iron Sets
Pre-Owned Putters (Scotty Cameron)
Pre-owned inventory moves fast because every item is one-of-a-kind. When a club sells, it is gone. We get new trade-ins weekly, but specific models in specific conditions are never guaranteed to be in stock.

530+ Reviews. Here's What the Analytical Buyers Say.
"Showed up exactly as described. Face and grooves were clean, shaft had no marks. The grading is honest. I compared prices against 2nd Swing and GlobalGolf before buying. TGG was the best deal by $40."
"Grip on the 7-iron was more worn than I expected for Above Average condition. Called them about it and they regripped two clubs at no charge, shipped back in three days. That kind of follow-through earns repeat business."
"I called before ordering because I wanted to know the exact condition of the grooves. The guy on the phone spent 10 minutes walking me through every club in the set. That is the kind of service you do not get from a website with 50,000 SKUs."
"Third purchase from TGG. Scotty Cameron Newport 2 in Mint condition. Arrived looking brand new. I have bought from eBay, 2nd Swing, and Callaway Pre-Owned. TGG is where I go first now."
Here's What Most Online Shops Won't Do
We Will Work With You on Pricing. Just Ask.
Most golf retailers operate on fixed pricing. The sticker says $349, you pay $349. End of conversation.
We are not most retailers. We are a family-run shop that has been negotiating pricing with golfers for 27 years. If you are serious about a club, tell us what you are looking at and what price you have seen elsewhere. We will do everything we can to earn your business.
This is not a gimmick. It is how we have always operated. Walk into our Bonita Springs shop and our team will haggle with you over a putter the same way we have been doing for over 27 years. We just brought that same energy online.
If you have found a club you want, or you are building out your bag and want the best possible deal, fill out the form below. We will personally review your request and get back to you within 24 hours.
